We Drink Ritalin

"The best!"

submission: We Drink Ritalin
date: August 30, 2003

This has to be the pinaccle acheivement of all animutations. You are simply a genius, man. This film alone has caused me to take up an interest in Flash MX and begin making films. This is one of the most halarious films of all time, and is definitely worthy of a fandom. Thank you for making this masterpiece! I am eternally in your debt!

weebl and bob: pie

"Nostalgia!"

submission: weebl and bob: pie
date: August 29, 2003

The very first Weebl and Bob cartoon. You have an excellent series on your site, and I'm glad to see your first one up here on Newgrounds. I suppose the humor doesn't appeal to everyone, but I for one think Weebl & Bob is the greatest. Some of your later ones are even funnier, I hope to see those on here? Maybe? Pleeease?

Kirby's Dreamland Demo

"Wow. o_o"

date: August 29, 2003

This is an amazing emulation of kirby. The controls flow really well, and as far as I could tell, were entirely bug free. The quality of game you have here actually beats a number of the real kirby games... I can't wait for the full version!

"Best humor/Kb rate on Newgrounds!"

It was amazing that you were able to do so much within such a restrictive frame! Congratulations on showing those nay-sayers that small films can be good.

Mark's Teachings of Anime

"Topic was good and strong."

date: August 26, 2003

Glad to see someone's strong in the sense of anime here. The topic was good, and I'm glad to see some education here, but perhaps it could have been presented better. Do you have a wacom tablet? That would probably help you immmensely on the graphical level.

Clock Legends

"You're all very talented!"

submission: Clock Legends
date: August 23, 2003

What can I say? As a programmer, artist, and Newgrounds member, I'm thoroughly impressed.

The game is extremely well coded -- Nothing feels forced or contrived. Once you get used to the way sayan power works (Use it in mid-jump to defy gravity, to all you idiots out there), this game just flows right under your fingertips, the way any well coded game should.

I also liked how the level and everything therein looked -- not needlessly complex, but not painfully simple. Good job on that, guys, I'll hand it to you -- you know how to make a good game.

One suggestion I have for future games like this would be the inclusion of a checkpoint somewhere in the level -- this game would be flawless if such a thing were implimented. Awesome job!

Author's Response:

Thanks! There actually is a checkpoint in the game, at the boss. Apparently that wasn't enough, though.

Easy Ways to Get Blammed

"Hooraying!"

date: August 20, 2003

This was clever, and very true. Good job of mocking the idiots on newgrounds. ^_^

Oh, yes, you also had an AHTM2 reference. Rock!

German Barbie Girl Part1

"This was really well done"

date: August 16, 2003

Alright, first things first -- this was funny. Good concept -- the barbie song itself is overused, but the use of the German version makes it halarious. ^_^

You bothered to be original, unlike a lot of people who submit to the portal, I like that fact. And you did try. 92 layers? Wow. I really hope, for your sanity's sake, you used folders.

I noticed you don't have any other flashes submitted here in your profile. Is this your first 'real' flash movie, or is this just your first submission? Either way, wow, ownzerage, sir. ^_^

Good job! I'll keep my eyes open for the second installment.

Author's Response:

Wow, thanks for the long response! You'd think with reviews like these this movie would have a higher score then a 2.21, oh well. Based on reviews looks like part 2 should be done shortly :D. And no folders were used. Just a never ending scroll of layers =)

"R"

"Intelligence? On Newgrounds? I'm in shock. ^^"

submission: "R"
date: August 16, 2003

Wow... I'm surprised something this thoughtful did so well in a place like Newgrounds -- I guess miracles do happen. ^^

First of all, let me say -- you are an EXTREMELY talented voice actor, if you did your character's on VAing (I would assume so. ^_^). Wow. You knew just the tone of voice to carry, just the words to emphasise to make it not only realistic, but at the same time interesting and lively! That's not an easy thing to do -- I'd know. Congratulations on that aspect!

With a flash that has a lot of speech, authors tend to get lazy on the animation, but you made a strong point of using character movement to emphasise what was being said, to keep things more 'alive'... and the characters in the background were funny, but not so obnoxious as to detract from the main point in any way.

This must have take a lot of time and thought to put together, and you completely and totally deserve a slot amongst the daily features. ^^

Congratulations on making a really, really good Flash movie! ^_^

Author's Response:

Let's see, if you did watch the credits, it took a good 1.5 months on it all. Three days of recording, a week setting it all out in a basic configuration, a good month of 12+ hours per day for the lip-sync, then another 12 days on the scene's animations... After that, the post-recording scene and the credits, those were a breeze of respectively a week and two days ^_^
And I had other things to keep my mind off that, like helping Rynn with her first drawing on Flash - Meta Ridley. She did extremely well, wouldn't you agree?

LOTRTehFellowship Prelude

"OMFG"

date: August 15, 2003

How did I pass this one up?!? It's amazing! I cannot BELIEVE you were able to fit all that into 575 KB (my copy of that track from the LOTR soundtrack is 4.5 MB, yet I didn't notice any significant quality reduction in this movie...)

Even if it WEREN't amazingly compact, it's absolutely halarious! I do not get WHY people blam clock movies for being clock movies -- clocks produce both good and bad movies, and this was definitely one of the former. Congrats on getting your award, by the way, you definitely deserved it.

Well animated, well parodied, well EVERYTHINGed! Hoorah!

Thank you clock crew for clock day! I'd never have seen this movie if Tom hadn't possessed the front page.

And HAPPY CLOCK DAY!
